Audience
Head to Toe attracts more than 500 school health professionals, primarily school nurses, counselors and social workers. Your presentation should speak to this audience.
Attendees range from individuals who are brand new to the field of school health to professionals with more than 20 years of experience. We seek programming that benefits all levels.
2019 participants came from 70 cities throughout New Mexico, with 34% coming from Albuquerque. Just over half of our audience were repeat attendees. Approximately 60% attend to obtain continuing education to maintain their professional license.
Keep in mind the cultural diversity of New Mexico's students as your workshop should address this. Also consider rural, frontier, and urban differences.
Workshop Structure
Based on attendee feedback, the majority of breakout sessions will be 90 minutes this year, with a few 60 minute slots available. Interactive presentations with significant audience interface and ample time for questions and answers are preferred. We suggest lectures take no more than 60% of the time allotted. Conference feedback consistently indicates that participants appreciate well-organized sessions with activities, demonstrations, and time for questions as well as readable presentation materials.
Workshops are professional development opportunities and may not incorporate sales presentations. It is expected that the workshop addresses the content submitted in the call for presentations.
